    Occupation: Pro Strongman

    Residence: Holland

    Where are you currently training?

I'm currently training @ageskrachthonk it's at a farm in frysland (northern part of the Netherlands) 20 min drive for me. It's a private location, only for a select group of strongman friends. We have all the strongman events you can think of. And there is a real good vibe

How did your fitness journey start?

When i was about 10 years old i started with martial arts. Fought my first tournament at 12 and i was really good at it. With martial arts we also had some strength training now and then. I really liked that. At the age of 15 i started doing some extra strength training in the gym and quickly noticed that i was a lot stronger then my friends.
After a few years i decided to do a benchpress competition, subjuniors categorie. The host of the competition was the legendary Wout Zijlstra
I pressed 150kg, a new dutch record. And after the competition Wout asked me if i would like to train at his farm.
So i did, ofcourse, and quickly fell in love with the sport of strongman. I trained at Wout's for 15 years. Last year he closed down his gym.

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

My favorite athlete is Zydrunas Savickas. Because he truly the g.o.a.t. of strongman.
So many titles and world records it's just insane.

    What is your favorite food?

A really good steak or some giant shrimp

What is your favorite Tuffwraps product and why?

My favorite Tuffwraps product must be the sleeves. They really support and protect the joints. I always wear them during strongman training.
My second favorite are the wraps. Super supportive and fits really good without the stupid thumbloops.

What is an odd fact about you?

I did some gymnastics when i was young and I can still jump a backwards somersault

    What is your favorite quote?

'Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall' - confusius
I had many big set backs and terrible moments in my life. But the most important thing is to look forward and keep going. You will always come out stronger

    Competition history.

So i started competing in strongman (and highland games) when i was 19 years old. I won Holland strongest junior 3 times. Placed myself in the finals at 23. Now i have been in Hollands finals for 12 years. Competed in Strongman Champions League for 4 times and done a lot of other international competitions.
About 10 to 15 comps a year, for about 15 years. So that's about 200 competitions and still going strong!
